A Vulne Pro visual gig

genocidalpenguin’s (Karl Östlund) original mecha design that he and I collaborated to adapt into the FOILjaeger Gottheitzerstorer for the Theos KE Polemos project.

It’s been awhile since anything was posted on the Vulne Pro studio tumblr so I thought I’d share the EBEJEEBIES web comics we did back in 2004. They had a run on Coast to Coast AM.com

Here’s the first episode. Doesn’t look like it’ll display full resolution on tumblr so here’s the Deviant Art posting as well.

This was the second collaboration between myself and Karl Östlund http://genocidalpenguin.deviantart.com/. Illustration and mecha design, by Karl, colors by me. This guy got a more pattern breaker camo and retained the same desert hues the Zidharta had.

Work I did for Palladium Books Macross Saga RPG souce book release.

The art in the book was grayscale but I did a few in color, this being one of them. 

This piece was done pretty quickly using one of the basic Kawamori model sheets as a ref but still drawn by me by hand. I thought it would be kinda ace to see a Valkyrie breaking the sound barrier so that’s what I did. Also seemed amusing to make it one of those inspiration “join the so-and-so” type posters  Though it’s a Veritech here they’ll always be Valkyries to me.

Old pre-digital traditional media illo of a post apocalyptic walkabout gal and her stylish hover-bike… thing. Pencil illustration painted with Winsor & Newton transparent water colors. Still amazed my patience held doing those cracks in the ground.

This piece is the first collaboration I did with Karl Östlund http://genocidalpenguin.deviantart.com/ even before he asked to contribute to the Theos KE Polemos project and become a part of Vulne Pro studio. Illustration and mecha design, by Karl, colors by me.

It was his unique mecha design aesthetics that drew me to his work right away, reminding me of old school mecha designers like Kobayashi and Yokoyama. This is, of course, the same visual territory I love to inhabit  so I had to color one of his designs. From this piece on we have collaborated ever since.
